Dream Job Competition Winners Announced!

The Greater Manchester Colleges Group (GMCG) launched a competition at the beginning of March to help ten lucky young people achieve their ‘Dream Job’. The competition, which is being funded by City Deals funding from New Economy, brings together ten colleges across the Greater Manchester region in a project that aims to raise the profile of Apprenticeships.

“GM Futures” sign Memorandum of Understanding 29th April, 2015

A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has this week been signed between: Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Greater Manchester Colleges Group, Greater Manchester Learning Provider Network, The Manchester College and The Manchester Growth Company. For the purposes of this agreement, the organisations will work under the banner of GM Futures.

Greater Manchester colleges give £3.1 billion boost to region’s economy (16 September 2014)

Ten further education colleges in Greater Manchester contribute £3.1 billion to the local economy each year, according to a new report.

The report found that the total contribution to the region’s economy made by the ten colleges who are part of the Greater Manchester Colleges Group (GMCG) – Bolton, Bury, Hopwood Hall, Manchester, Oldham, Salford City, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan & Leigh – equates to 5.1% of the area’s total economic output.

10 Greater Manchester Colleges Form Unique Partnership 21 June 2013

A unique partnership involving the 10 largest colleges in Greater Manchester has been given the official seal-of-approval.

The Greater Manchester Colleges Group consists of Bury, Bolton, Hopwood Hall, Manchester, Oldham, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan & Leigh – who have now established a joint venture company making it the first of its kind in a city region.
